Does any one have a design for building a bow oven? Share many designs if you know them. Thanks

Your plain ol everyday hot box will work for a curing oven and they are really simple. 3- 100w. bulbs in mine will send the temp right up to 150-160 deg. in no time flat.......way too hot for staves! But it would work dandy for a bow curing oven.

All kinds of stuff specifically posted to help new builders, including an oven build along. Build your oven longer than i did, though. I had a space limitation. Go for 86" if you're going to use a hose form. I don't, so it's not a problem for me.

Dick, I made the same mistake. Had to cut a round hole in the end of the box to extend the hose out of. I stuff some rags around it to keep the heat in.
It's not all bad, since I can keep track of the pressure in the hose and make adjustments if needed.

Now that's making lemonade, Monterey! I have heat strips for my hose, so no oven needed. However, having done three hose bows, I doubt I'll go back. Just don't like or trust it compared to clamps and aluminum forms. Guess I'm old fashioned.

Probably a good idea to make it a bit bigger than you think you will need. Casters are a good idea, as well dang things weigh a ton.

that height issue is a real good point. I was doing just fine with my 3 way pin clamps, then I did a bow with 4" C clamps, which stick up further. I had to tilt the layup to the side as the higher clamps touched the light bulbs in the lid
