hey guys i was wondering if i scotchbrighted the whole bow could i use minwax poly wipe on it to finish seal it . it has some spots where the finish is gone and im trying to put a finish on it. to get it ready for the better half. its a 60in. 25# longbow i have shot it and pull it to 283/4s so i think its good . shes not interested yet but think if i make it all pretty maybe she will be. i thought of using polyshades on it and making it mauveish for her then putting the poly wipe over the color.let me know what you guys think the bow is in great shape just needs
sealed up again thanks for any and all info

If the bow is all wood I would sand it cown with 100 grit until its clean wood. Sand it down with 250 then unto 400. Wipe it down with acetone to get the surface clean. Stain it whatever color you want and spray 4-6 coats of Deft satin poly on it. It will be good for another 30-40 years.
