Plans/Design/Tips needed for a 3 pc recurve take down
« on: April 20, 2011, 06:07:00 AM »
I have made several glass laminated longbows in the past years and taught people to make some. Now i want to try a "mild" 3 pc take down recurve.  The limbs materials should fade nearly seamless in the riser like some bows i have seen around.

The bow should have  ~47# at 29" draw length.

Are there some recommend plans/drawings or designs ,tips which form/design and which laminate combination would hit the 47#/29" ?

Thanks,

Gundog68

Go to the Binghams site and take a look at their Hybrid.  I bought this one a while back and am itching to give it a try.  It looks like a great pattern for a solid shooter.

@AKmud
The hybrid is a longbow ?

I know bingham, have some of their videos. I will order the Take-Down Recurve 58”- 68” (Instructional
Material & Blueprints) but i would prefer to use my own material (or kennym´s).

Thanks.

The hybrid is the one I have and is more longbow than recurve I suppose.

Check out the plans - "301D 58", 60", 62" Take-Down Recurve" on their site.  The blueprints are very good quality and easy to use.

You know....Now that i think of it.... I've still got a pretty good pile of Bingham's plans....i would gladly send you some slightly used ones.

That was my very first recurve bow, and it's not bad geometry at all... send me your address if you are interested and I'll dig them out for you.

i could probably set you up with some lams while I'm at it.
