Newbie with Riser Question
« on: April 26, 2011, 12:35:00 AM »
I have an extra set of limbs for a Sage 62" recurve and was wanting to make a shorter riser for them. If I shorten the riser, but keep the same limb angle and get an appropriate length string should the poundage stay near the limb ratings? Is actionwood my best bet for riser material because it is laminated?
Thanks

the weight will increase if you make the riser shorter than on the original bow.  Shortening the riser shortens the bow so the draw weight will go up.

thanks for the reply. I wondered if that would happen. I'll have to rethink this project.
