Completed Pics of BBO w/skins
« on: April 29, 2011, 11:56:00 PM »
Finally got the handle wrap on and the arrow shelf cushions. It's done and ready to rock!
I just got done shooting it and it shoots absolutely awesome! Best shooting bow I've made to date.
Thanks for looking!

Very nice Semo,

Is that one the first off the Traveling Caul Design? I missed your specs on this bow. Do you know who the keeper is now? might like to give it a try.

 Good on ya, Chuck

Sweet Semo....... even if it does have them snake skins on it LOL  I would not be so bad but since I finally got bit the year before last, they just give me the creeps touching them. I think I will back one with a nice fuzzy bunny skin

Does the thicker bamboo take very much set? I have a problem with it (or at least my resource) just unstrung and resting having a couple of inches difference when thin. Last one you can actually watch it recover, it only takes about 10 seconds. Weird but you know it is robbing a little cast. Did you taper your boo?

Semo, that looks like the complete package bud!

As soon as I can get my hands on some dimensional bow material I will be starting mine.

I am 99% sure that is a Yote skin you have there but wow does it have some nice colors at the nape and rump (looks like it has some Red Wolf blood in it somewhere)

Super cool photo collage!

Heck, I missed the cord handle I was so busy looking at the skin, the bow string & silencers, the euro skull, etc.

Any close ups up the handle and how did you finally end up or decide how to finish it off?

Thanks!

Lee I think he put more time into the "photo op" than he did the bow..............you know how bowyers are when they get to that certain level.

Thanks Fellas!

I was trying to take a decent picture, but I'm no photographer by any means and my pictures suck as always.

CR- Yep, this would be the one off the new caul.

Shoot4thrills- It hammers those CX Predators home just as fast as my Bear Grizzly if that tells ya anything. I'm pleasantly pleased with it, best bow I've built so far.

Jeff- It's not taking set as far as I can tell, but I did lose some of the R/D when I tillered it. A certain amount will be lost when wood is removed from the belly, and the boo is only flattened not tapered, I wouldn't even begin to know how I could do that on a 4" belt sander.

Lee- That's my biggest coyote to date. Male that weighed 45lbs. and had a absolutely beautiful coat so it would have been a shame not to tan that one and put it on the wall. I'd say he was eatin good and looked extremely healthy almost like somebody's lap dog that got brushed everyday.
Then the euro of last years 8pt. I needed something to hold the bow up.   :goldtooth:

Yes that's a para cord handle and I think I really like it so far. It was fairly easy to do, little time consuming but I went slow and tried to do a neat job with it. I used super glue on it as I went around the handle, then soaked it a little more in a few places to make sure it stays on forever. I really like the feel of it.
That's black velcro on the arrow shelf by the way and I'm really diggin that velcro, talk about simple and effective! I'll never use anything else now.

Here's a couple close ups of the handle area.
