Layout opinions?
« on: May 25, 2011, 05:06:00 PM »
Just wanted to get some other opinions on what to do on this bow. Right now its in the floor tiller stage. Its 66" with 8" of stiff handle and 1.5" wide to midlimb. Its for my dad and I'll be going for around 50# at 28". It has a big hook on the end and I'm trying to decide whether to cut it off or leave it the way it is. I've tillered bows with wiggles in them before but they were never this close to the tip. I would have to cut off 5" off that end and the same from the other end which would put me at 56" and I kinda feel like thats too short. What do yall think?

If it were mine I would try straightening it a little, remove the twist, and re align the tips by heating the handle section and bend it there to get the tips aligned. I would also heat a little reflex into it.  If that didn't work I would cut it off and make a bend through the handle bow out of it.  I have one that is 54" NTN that pulls 53# @ 27".....Dan
