Wild Thing

Finished this bow this morning. Bamboo/osage/osage tri-lam. 58" ntn, 60# @ 28".

The wood at the tip is simply ground off flat on a sander, then a piece of horn is glued on in it's place. Ya just have to be mindful of the angles.

I used alcohol aniline dye.

Yup, thats what they are supposed to like alright! Very nice bow. Where is the "money shot"? Lets see that baby bent to 28".

beautiful bow but don't you think that brace height is excessive?  

The bow would be faster with a lower brace height too.  Less stressed and could possibly be drawn further with no increase in set.

Aznboi, the brace height is 6 1/4". I wouldn't call that excessive. It's just barely enough to keep the feathers off the shelf. The bow itself is really quite petite, so perhaps that and the pictures somehow make it look higher than it is. How high would you have guessed it at?
