screw-in broadheads
« on: February 20, 2008, 09:43:00 AM »
I've noticed that when spinning some of the popular pre-made screw-in broadheads for straightness, that it's not that uncommon to see some small amount of wobble.  It doesn't seem to be an insert problem, as other broadheads from the same pack spin true-

Does anyone have any tips for straightening other than just trying to muscle them a little straighter?

Good job checking them.  I've had a few that were mounted a little crooked.  I just apply a little heat and the glue will usually soften enough to re-align the broadhead to the insert.  I have never had one that I could not fix this way.

If they are glued on inserts than do as ISP 5353 mentioned.

If the insert is bad, then you can either try to straighten it or throw it away.  Most screw in broadheads like Magnus and others, glue their broadheads to screw in adapters.  A little heat softens the glue and you can try to reposition them for better alignment.  Hope this helps.
