Refinishing old glass lam bow

So this one falls under that, "...if I hadn't been so impatient I wouldn't have this problem..." category.

My uncle gave me a couple bows when I was a kid, both structurally sound but in need of some TLC.  The longer of the two, I decided I wanted to refinish.  It's been probably 15 years or more since I did it, so I don't recall exactly how I did it, but I managed to pull up all sorts of glass splinters out of the limbs, and some are pretty deep--maybe between 1/16 & 1/32".        Now all these years later I would like to get into traditional archery in earnest and while I should have a functional bow, I really don't because I did such a number on it when I was a kid.  

So I'm wondering if this bow is still safe with all the little depressions in the limbs left from the splinters I pulled up?  If so, how would you fix it?  I've sanded on it a little and have taken out some of the more shallow depressions, but I don't think I want to sand as much as it would require on the deeper ones.  I thought about maybe scraping some JB Weld in (because I already have some)...is that a dumb idea?

i gotta say that i wouldn't string the bow with glass fibers pulled up. i'm not a glass bow maker so i can't help you, sorry. hopefully someone will be along who could advise you what exactly to do. don

I am thinking this is probably a solid fiberglass bow. If so I would not try to use it, could be very dangerous. I would put it back for sentemental value and get myself a cheap used bow to shoot.

James - it's not solid fiberglass.  It has glass lams on the back & belly but the core is wood.  Does that change anything?
