Laying Out Tapers
« on: July 21, 2011, 01:22:00 PM »
Was thinking about tapered lams and was curious if there is a certain direction to lay them out.  I mean if the lam is tapered on one side, should that taper face back or belly?  If you have two core lams that are tapered, should the tapers face each other?

Thanks
Matt

That is a very interesting question. I have never used more than one taper and I grind mine full length (one piece) from both ends. I put the taper side to the belly. This works very well for me and it is easy to do.
