Actually it's almost a copy of a old Schulz American longbow I've always wanted one ever since I seen this ad in a TBM years ago. Charlie Lamb brought one over that he had made last year while hunting and it was so smooth and quiet I knew I wanted to build one.

I had a couple old osage billets that I traded for at Mojam years ago laying around so I decided to try and make one.

I made a new form and added about a 1 1/2 of reflex and ended up almost strait after tillering and exercising the limbs 100's of times. I was figuring on a little string follow but haven't seen it yet.

NTN 66" 54@28 I can't wait to watch the Osage change to a golden brown, It
should look really good when done.  :)

I used a old cow horn and osage for the tips and the horn came out almost clear.

Thanks for looking!

Sweet! John might have used myrtle for the handle and a deep gloss finish - other than that it is a near perfect copy. Great style of bow and very well executed.

Thanks guys!!

Your right Shaun but I couldn't find any Spar Varnish around here but I will and plan on using it on the next bow. I plan on building the BBB bows also and will be looking for some myrtle.

I think I got the Osage for this bow from you at Mojam the year I had my Tipi there but not sure, I traded for alot of stuff that weeknd. Lol  :D

Thanks guys!

Ari, I had a heart valve replaced a few months ago and not pulling bows yet so I wish I knew how she shot but it won't be long before I get there. I should be ready for hunting season  :D

Thanks Kenny, I can't wait to start the next one

That's very nice! Perfect timing for me also. The guys at my range are getting an all wood class together and I have been wanting to make a bow just like that. I have what may be the dumbest question for you. On the osage, did you follow a ring or just shape it out? I've only built glass bows and simply don't know how to go about it. Where did you get your bamboo? Mike

Bodork, I did not follow the rings on this bow. It was made from two different pieces of wood and Z spliced.

I got my Bamboo from Mike Yancey at Pine hollow longbows, He's a sponsor and a great guy to deal with.
