Need Opinions on Tents and sleeping bags

I am looking at buying a Tent and sleeping bag for early and late 3d shoots and Fall hunting.What brands would be good to look at?

Cant go wrong with military bags. That three bag system with the air mat has kept me warm on many winter field exercises, and a few hunting trips too. Not too sure about the tents though.

Check out Big Agnes for the sleeping bag and pair it with their Insulated Air Core Pad.  I am more comfortable in that outfit than my bed at home.

I would look at North Face Cat's Meow sleeping bag...you can find them online relatively inexpensive.  Great sleeping bag I have used mine in a wide variety of conditions, it has always done very well.

I personally use Kifaru tents, expensive but great quality.  You can find information about these tents at Kifaru.net

Beckel canvas Eena wall tent, mine has survived hail, snow storms and tornadoes and it is still like new after 15 years.  Don't forget the wood burning stove.

I use the Kifaru 8-man with the med. stove absolutely amazing considering how compact and light the whole deal is.It also has the traditional appeal.I also use the Big Agnes bag with the air core pad. Sure cures the problem of rolling off the pad.I have the encampment and it has aplenty of elbow room.

Big fan of North face bags...can usually be found discounted a various places, great warranty and great design.

I have a NF snowshoe that goes with me on any overnight excursion...I'd rather sleep in it than between covers. Good to 0, but with a bag liner and the right sleeping clothes, good for way lower than that (and I hate to get cold).

If you spend any time in a Hennesy hammock, you may give up tent camping forever. You need trees to use it, but can't recommend this system highly enough.

I'm using a campfire (baker's) tent made by Beckel Canvas Products for the activities you're talking about.  It's 7/x7' with a sewn in floor and mosquito netting; 2'in back, 6' in front with an awning and wings.  Total weight about 15#.  Handles two people nicely.  Also nice for canoe camping.  I am considering selling it though to get a Kifaru, which I want to use for backpack hunting.  I use a Thermarest pad and a Bean 0 degree down bag, which is more than one needs most of the time.  

Also have a 9x12 Beckel (eena) wall tent.  That's considerably heavier and takes longer to set up.  Nice if you're going to stay in one place a while.

Not a bad idea to pack an 18 oz. emergency tube tent in your pocket or daypack. In the event of an unplanned overnight stay, the tube tent will keep you dry and cozy. It also can be used as an emergency SOS signal (its 8' long and bright orange) as a poncho, a ground cloth, or even to pack out the meat. A good investment for $6.

Only had to use one once, but if you ever spent a rainy night in the Maine woods, you will appreciate the importance of being warm and dry at 4 am.

Check out the six moon design. I just purchased the Gatewood cape. It is a waterproof cape that doubles as a tent. It weights about 14oz. They have tents also for backpacking.

I would look at the Wiggy sleeping bags before I bought any of the big name brands. Look around the website and read some of the information posted there, It will make you think. They are supposed to be some of the best. That is where my next sleeping bag is coming from. Lastly, I believe they are made in the USA and I don't think that you can say that about any of the others.

Orion, I have the new material campfire and the larger canvas with all the same features added to it.  Did you ever find that polyester campfire tent to leak in down pours ?   I had to spray mine with water proofing.
