Making a drilling jig?
« on: August 10, 2011, 06:43:00 PM »
Going to make a drilling jig for a take down bow. The inserts for the limb bolts have a 1/2"-13 thread and you use a 27/64" drill bit. Is this correct or should I leave more wood for the tap. Thanks, Don

Don I'd like to get a copy of that limb bolt jig when you get er built if you don't mind. I may end up trying an all wood 3 piece at some point just to say I did it. Got the limb bolt hardware, just need to build the rest to go with it.   :knothead:    :biglaugh:

Bingham sells a jig that works well if using one bolt and a blind pin

Ron, I looked at that one. Some have said they didn't care for the screws. I have access to a lathe, mill and some free metal, so I can make one for free. Don

The screws were fine on mine, the 1/4" hole that was off to one side by .020" was what killed it for me!
Stay sharp, Kenny.
