Opinion Please Osage LB New Pics Full Draw

Ok, got this beautiful piece of osage from John Scifres some time ago and it is finally looking like a bow.  However, at this stage in the game i usually blow them up or drop down to a 15# bow.  Please give me your input. The right limb is the upper limb.  The only thing i notice is that the left limb is a little stiff.  
First photo is un-braced
Second is at a brace of 3"
Third is drawn to about 14"
Fourth is drawn to about 18"

You are spot on, the left limb, looks like the outer 2/3's is strong.  Go SLOOOOOW.  12-15 strokes with a scraper and exercise that lower limb until it catches up with the upper.  You will get other opinions but I tiller my bows with 1/4" positive tiller.

You have a major hing forming about 10" on the right limb. A tillering gizmo will point this out for you.

Yup. Hinge on the right and stiff on the left. I wouldnt worry about the left for now, make that hinge go away before it does permanent damage.

Ditto Drums.  Hinge on r/h limb about 2/3 from handle.  Remove wood on both sides of the hinge to relieve the stress from the hinged area.  Then catch up the left limb to compensate for the new, weaker right limb.  Start with the outer 2/3 like 163 suggested.  Try to keep the last 4-6 inches of the tips a bit stiff though.

Is that a natural kink on both ends of your bow NA? If so then leave as is. Or heat bend straight. Looks natural to me since nothing changes as the bow is drawn.

Your bow's drawn profile is directly related to it's back profile. Arc of circle for a pryamid design and an elliptical profile for a rectangular limb design.

Appears to me you're ready for a regular brace height. Once you get to that point, leave your string on and tiller the bow out to your weight and length by hand drawing instead of using a tree. Much harder to come in under weight by hand drawing/tillering when using this method then using the tillering tree IMO.

Both lims are heat bent.  The right limb (the one that has the apparent hinge) has a natural kink in it that kinks up to the back.  Not sure if that is why it is forming a hinge.  I have been using a Gizmo and it reads even.  Not sure how to finish the tiller around the kink.  Thanks for the help.  This one is one of many to come and i want to do it right.  I will give it a check and post a few more pics.

That kink isn't forming a hinge Treavor. What appears in your unstrung profile should also appear in the strung profile.....Art

Here are a couple of new pics of the bow.  The first is at brace 6.5" the second is at 24".  The left limb looks like it is bending even.  I need a little input as to where to scrape on the right limb.  The hinge is still there but to me looks better.  What is the best way to work that out more?

Like I said earlier, that natural kink should show in your drawn profile.

Now's the time to do away with that tree and start feeling by hand for even limb strain. Profile you got on the tree right now will not be the same when you draw by hand.

What type limb design (pyramid or rectangular) did you use?

Art the limbs are about 1.25" out to 10" then taper to the tips.  Also, i have the belly trapped to a degree with a little un-evenness yet to finish out.  Art, when you say 'drawn profile' what are you referring to?  I appreciate the input, this is the farthest i have gotten on a bow without it exploding.

Your bow is looking really good at this point Treavor. Bow's elliptical tiller is perfect for your rectangular limb design. I would recommend you leave the string on to do your final scraping/sanding. Any scraping should be done from tip to handle to avoid cutting the string. It's really hard to miss weight and tiller when finishing out by hand. Not so for beginners who try to finished their tiller out on the tree.....Art

Ok, here are a couple shots at full draw.  The bow shoots great, cane, ash and cedar arrows all fly nice.  Any last bits of input is appreciated.  Thanks for the help

Treavor, are you drawing the bow from a permanent string nock position? It would make judging the bow's tiller a little easier with a nocked/drawn arrow. Do you shoot three under with the bow upright? First pic looks a little off, second one much better......Art

Full draw with arrow.  I shoot split finger.  This is the first one that ended up a shooter and not a fire stick.  Thanks Much
