First try at a glass bow.
« on: August 31, 2011, 04:24:00 PM »
This is my first attempt at a glass bow.
It is 43lbs@26", 64"NTN.
It has Red Elm limb cores with Tulip wood veneers. The riser is Cocobolo.
It shoots great with no hand shock and is super quiet.
I'll put a black leather grip on it but I just wanted to show the Cocobolo first.
Thanks,
Mark

Sorry Mark.  I don't believe you.

Looks great - I would have to shoot it without the leather!
Enjoy the hunt!  - Mitch

Nice looking bow.
But his bow will remain steady, and his hands will be skillful; because of the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob, because of the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel,  (Genesis 49:24 [NETfree])

It looks even better up close. Mark really did a fine job on it. John, it really was his first glass bow. You should see his self-bows, they look even better.

at the risk of sounding completely random, are you a lefty?
You see I'm against hunting, in fact I'm a hunt saboteur. I go out the night before and shoot the fox.

Thanks Guys I appreciate the compliments but really I was just a student. It was my first glass bow but it is Greg's design and he did most of the work in his shop.  This was more of a lesson from from from an awesome bow builder.
Check out the other bow he made for me(in a bow swap) in the Elk hunting Utah thread.

Trux,
It's off the same form as your bow.

Mark,
I still think you did most of the work.
