New bow!
« on: February 21, 2008, 11:01:00 AM »
I know there are a lot of Savannah fans in our community, but I just had to share.  I owned an identical bow a few years ago, before I learned how to shoot.  I enjoyed the bow but traded it off pretty quicky.  It was my first longbow.  Since then I have owned nice longbows by Robertson, Treadway, Liberty, Hummingbird, Kohannah, and a Great Plains.  I just had to try another Savannah.  This bow is as fine as any other I have owned in fit and finish, and better than many.  It happens to shoot better than any other for me.  Not trying to take away from any of the other fine bows listed, but this Savannah is the finest longbow that I have shot.  I added the leather grip.

Beautiful bow and nice job on the grip. I'm impressed with the way they shoot also.

I would have to agree, the Savannah is a very nice looking and shooting bow.

Nice job on the leather grip!

Apex, where'd you get the leather for the grip? What did you use for lacing? Looks nice. Jim

I bought a bag of scraps from Michaels Arts and Crafts.  I spied a nice black piece big enough for four or five of these grips, as well as a nice chocolate brown one.  It also included a bunch of green leather that I will probably never use.  The whole pack was $6.99.  I used artificial sinew for the lacing.  Anyone need some green leather scraps for anything?  Let me know and I will send you a piece.

Yea, the Savannah's are some nice shooting bows. I would say one of the best mass produced bows on the market.

After hunting the marshes of Brunswick with you the bow fits. Enjoy it and introduce it to some of those pigs of the coastal Georgia savannah.

Like you this is my first traditional bow...and I'm not getting ride of it.

I like the leather grip you put on it, I'm thinking about getting a rubber role up version from 3Rivers.

I think mine is #6630 and was made in 2006 but I bought it in Feb of 2007 new.
