Black Snake Eats Copperhead
« on: September 21, 2011, 05:28:00 PM »
This pic got me thinking about a two piece take down I am working on.

Should I do it? One limb black snake and the other limb Copperhead?

Would it look bad?

Make the top limb nock look like a snake's head and carve out another snake eating the first on the handle.

It will look awesome!!!

Still I think have two different limbs would be really cool.

That pic looks bad. looks like the black snake is badder than the copperhead!

I think it would look cool Joe if you could do it with a little art work of a black snake head eatin' the copperhead.

That's probably a king snake. I've caught a ton of them over the years that were mostly black like that. I never kill one, though.

Pretty wild! I never really thought anything would try and eat a venomous snake other a mongoose or something like that.

Would be a pretty good theme for a bow.

That's what it looks like to me too.  They almost have a blue tint to them and their scales are different than a black snake.  At least the ones that I have caught were.

That would be a sweet find.  Two skins for the price of one.

The copperhead you see on the bench was taken from the ER at the hospital. It bit woman when she stepped off of her ATV. The husband killed it and it just had too many holes to use so I decided to use a blacksnake skin I had.

Yeah, that is a black racer.  That second pic shows it better. You posted that pic while I was posting mine.

Whatever kind is its the belly would make a nice skin for a bow black and white mottled like it is.
