Bow building in SE/NE PA
« on: November 18, 2011, 10:37:00 PM »
I have a few osage staves I would like to try to make longbows out of. I really would like a mentor to guide me through the process.
I was wondering if there are any bowyers in Bucks county or within driving distance that wouldn't mind mentoring a newbie?
Thanks,
JD

Couple of years ago I ran into a guy at Washingtons Crossing State park in NJ. There was a primitive living skills day there. Anyway there was a guy building osage bows that were really good. Wasn't into it yet so didn't keep the card he gave me,   :knothead:  You could probably call the Park Office and talk to the education officer, they should have contact info. It was back in the fall of 2007.
Good luck
