Naw, Roy. I couldn't get pics of the two with their new bows until Monday. I was just giving myself a little extra time to talk her into helping out again.
I won't let her go off that long.

Shot Kenny's bow for the first time tonight. Put about 100 arrows through her. Little bit much for a 63 year ole man, it's 55 @ 28", but I got er done.

Video below, damn dryer was running behind me, duh:)

Worked on my bow for the bow swap.  Got it all shaped and ready for finish sanding and finish.  It is a t/d recuve, I think it going to come out pretty nice.

I took off too much wood on an osage bow.  Farthest along I've gotten on one.  It's about 50#, tiller is a little off.  I'm afraid after shooting it in it will be under legal hunting weight.  Oh well...

I put some finishing touches on my trade bow this afternoon. Just a bit of varnish over the lettering and it's done.
I also got some work done on another bow that was intended to be an all bamboo laminate. I had problems getting the bamboo back planed to an even thickness so now the bow will be a tri-lam since it ended up a bit too thin.  :o

My wife recently celebrated what she calls her "first anniversary of turning 29"

I put a few arrows through one of my BBO glue-ups from a few days ago, nice, very nice. I still have to drop a few pounds for the new owner and add the finishing touches.

I got my trade bow packed and ready for the mail.
If I get home on time tomorrow, I'll get it in the mail.

Today I rode through a deer lease near my home. An old friend has been trying to talk me into joining their lease, so we went riding this afternoon.

He showed me a box stand that I will be taking over and several spots for ladder stands for bow hunting. As we approached the box stand a buzzard flew out of it. When we looked inside there were two large eggs! I'd never seen buzzard eggs before. They were a dingy pale color with maroon specks and blotches. One had more maroon coloring than the pale shade. There was no "nest". The eggs were simply sitting in the corner on the carpet inside the stand. The buzzard was back when we returned after an hour or so on our way back out of the bottoms.

Shortly after passing the box stand on our way out, I witnessed an owl as it scooped up a gray squirrel about 10 yards in front of my 4 wheeler!

An incredible afternoon spent with a good friend who is also an avid bowhunter and retired teacher.

I'm joining the lease, needless to say. I've seen the caliber of deer Frank has taken and know I lucked out.

Oh, and there was a decent sized south Arkansas creek near the stand location. Wonder if there are any cats swimming around in the deeper pools?  :campfire:    :archer2:

Started off running our garage sale and got talking to a picker looking for antiques, after talking for awhile he told me he bought several vintage longbows and sold them but still had an unfinished blank if I would want it. I said sure and the guy brought back the bow blank, it turned out to be a D shaped quartersawn longbow blank. Can't tell what wood it is, thinking hickory but I calculated 28 rings per inch (16 rings in 11/16").

Going to let it acclimate for awhile and give it a go. Thinking of a hickory backing to give it a better chance at making a bow after all these years. Probably over 40 yrs old.

I put another few coats of finish on a bow, and now I'm taking my kids fishing.
