Made a bow string for a AC/DC aka desert camo r/d longbow and shot it several times.

Put two empty supers on a bee hive.

Pulled some weeds out of my strawberry patch project and squirted some water on them.

Some picts to follow up with my earier post.

Its not the biggest but my first...big enough that I think I can still experiment with the skin.  I would like to arrow a larger carp that I can use to back my bow...still reading up on the best way to go from fish to backed bow.  Please PM me with any tried and true methods!  Thanks!

Atta Boy:) Nice shot Dino. It was 96 here today and humid as hell. I put up florescent lights in the basement and above the work bench. Shot the Takedown Longbow Kenny made me again today. Impressive is all I can say. Shoots like a dream:) Took a ride and bought 1/2 pound of shiners and 4 doz night crawlers to go fishen tonight after it cools off. Our pond is about 300 yards down the hollow from the house, shady down there and always about 15 to 20 degrees cooler down there. Our Silver Channel Cats are around 30 inches long, bet that would look pretty on a selfbow.

Me and the Ole Bird Dog relaxing at the pond.

Scouted a limited elk unit I drew on Saturday - hoping it doesn't burn down before season.  Then today I shaped out a riser and roughed out the tips on a new bow.

Nope, wrong side of the road.  But...right under the limb just below where the phenolic and glass meet holds some promise :^)

Finished the osage bow I was making, put the first coat of finish on it, found a few tool marks that the tru-oil made stand out, will remove them tomorrow, picky, picky, picky.

Funny how they appear after finish is on   :banghead:   I buffed and finished another coat of shellac. I looked for some heavier leather steps to make another skived handle wrap.

Took an osage backed boo out of the clamps. It is a bow I had started over 2 years ago. The bow had broken in half and I glued it back together with epoxy. It has been sitting in the "corner of shame" since. Just as an experiment, I'm trying to finish it and see if I can make it work.

Pretty skin DVS.

Made up a little quiver today, my first go at weaving.

Not to worry Dave sasquatches and pythons are docile with each other. See how both sasquatch and snake are smiling...   :jumper:

I was driving today and a Wild Turkey flew across in front of me and hit the roof right above my windshield. It bounced up in the air and landed right on the windshield of a cop that was following me too close. Shattered his windshield all to heck. Then the cop speeds up, pulls me over and gave me a $100.00 traffic citation. Geeze... What a day..
