Actually this past weekend...
I "Guided" my two brothers, on two different occasions, to some carp. Each brother shot and retrieved two carp...their first bow carp! I skinned them and added them to my first bow shot carp. I want to skin a bow using part of each of our fist bow carp. I "hand-fed" the carp meat to a mink that lives in our dock…pretty cool…a bit too small for a quiver though.
Chased a ring on my osage billets. My friend helped me surgically band saw a center cut from a fat osage stave. We angled the cut around the handle section of the outer stave which left a pair of billets. I never spliced before so this will be good practice on wood that might have been wasted.
I gifted a rock sling to a young kid of a guy I’m working with while out of town for the summer. Hope he doesn't break a window …or his skull! I found a great sling design if anyone is interested.

My kids have been nurturing a young Common Tern with a damaged wing since Thursday. The Tern had a tag...part of a “Save The River” project up here on the St. Lawrence River. My wife and kids will be traveling 2 hours to civilization to get x-rays of the Tern before dropping it off at a wildlife rehabilitation center in the Thousand Islands area. A long trip for helping the Tern but I’m staying out of that one.
Needless to say, I'm glad to be a work today to rest up!
Have a great day!

PS. Please see my upcoming post regarding some carp skin questions I have. Thanks!
