We have company coming this week to hunt for 4 days here. My Buddy and his wife, and she hunts too. So to earn more brownie points with Momma:)
I cleaned, organized, and hosed down the basement floor. And I threw out things down there that I have been moving around for a couple years now:) Garbage Man hain't gonna like the pile I put out for him:) Might work on the Yew Stave tonight, or might not. Had a few beers today while cleaning, so maybe I better not:)

This is a change, I sat in a hospital room at Vanderbilt with my wife who developed severe complications from bladder cancer surgery. I thought she ws a goner(ruptured abcess from a perforated small intestion) when I drove her to the ER, amazingly, they have saved her for now. We may go home in a few days

Eric,

I'm pulling for you and your wife from my corner of the woods!  I hope she gets back on her feet soon!

My son Colton and I went hunting the other day behind our house and were fortunate enough to harvest a nice 4 pt buck.  This buck meant a lot to me (all of them do) as I harvested him with a selfbow and arrow I crafted on my own, made a very clean double-lung kill, and most of all, Colton was with me...he sat next to me (motionless) and watched the deer approach and saw the arrow impact.  After some hugs and high-fives, Colton tracked the deer through the woods by himself and was able to recover the deer.  I butchered the deer the same night due to the warm temps, removed the sinew (and toe bones), have the pelt ready to be tanned, and currently boiling the skull for a European mount.

Again, what a great experience for me as a Dad!  He was so excited to be there with me and was so proud of me!  I don't want to rush these days but I cannot wait for the day he is able to harvest a deer on his own!

Below are a few picts.

Take care and good luck in the woods!

Today?  I over sanded one of my tip overlays and have to start over on them. Dang it!

That is the way to do Dino.  Great harvest and hunt.  I am sure these memories will last several life times.

Nice buck Dino! Before you know it, you'll be the one watching as your son shoots a buck.   :D
I'm going out to work on a bow and enjoy the last part of a nice day.
Dave.
