Well roy, you can play with all the harbors you want. As long as you are playing with the granddaughter then I won't make fun of you for it...however the broken foot is a different matter entirely. You should know at your old and brittle age that running across the house when Dora the explorer comes on will only lead to trouble.

You guys sure are being hard on an injured old man. I might have to send him one of my walking sticks so he can hobble around and get some thumpin done.   :)

I have several early "attempts" at bows that could serve the purpose.....thumpin and walkin....really nice "handles" with a slight blemish that looks strikingly similar to an arrow rest    :)    ....hope it healed well....passing no judgement on dressing Barbies....I have a 5year old girl and I also participate....and then she asks to shoot the bow I made her...it's a balance:)

Roy hope the foot heals. You better leave that Ohio Osage alone or old Joe might add you to his thumpin list.

I skinned a doe today I think I am going to try my hand at raw hide. Never done it so I hope it turns out. I need to make me a couple of scrapers. I have plenty of flint flakes so I might use some of the.

I knocked the first application of tung oil off the youth bow I referenced a couple of pages ago. Then reapplied and rigged up a drying booth in my bathroom. Current weather is not conducive to oil drying.

Between coats...

iPhone pics suck, but this will be my prettiest bow to date.

Roy - Did you split any of those staves or did you let the other guys do all the heavy lifting while you manned the camera?

Store bought doughnuts and blue poweraid? I'm upset Roy. Every decent selfbowyer knows it's whiskey and wedges! Maybe coffee, but not doughnuts and sports drinks.   :scared:    :biglaugh:

Yup VB, duct tape. I drank beer DVS, fed the workers the doughnuts and coffee... Will make selfbows mostly from it, and some belly slats.

Bowhunting and got a new osage bow to full draw. I rushed though and missed weight by four lbs.

Nice Dave and congrats on dah Squirrel.
Ya know what those guys did to me yesterday? They made me start a bow, and they even picked one out for me. How nice of them guys huh? :)  Then they coached me and laughed at me chasing my first ring on Osage. And they drank all my beer too....
