Thats a heck of a stick Shaun. Beautiful bend!!! I built a 95#@30" war bow a few years ago. I could pull it about 12" to 15". Making them is one thing. Shooting them is another. d;^)

Pat.  You will simply love the Stave Master.  It is so nice.

I'm half way there 20 hrs a week for three years, not by choice, (down sized).  The hours are great, the pay sucks though.

You mean you can't shoot deer at 30 yards through thick brush, Son? Heck I shot at the biggest buck of my life, on a dead run, at 60 yards, through thick brush, up hill both ways. But I missed him, damn arrow got stuck in a sapling:)

Made a bow I can't show on this site - posted over on PA. Yew prod and pear tiller. First try at these and happy with the results. Plan to use it for a hog in Texas this winter.

Got the bocote bow to profile, its heavy- 47@28 , sposed to be 40@ 28. I may have a new huntin bow for next fall!

Glued the last of 2 tabletops for Christmas(bow is too), but may not make the deadline.

People gotta figure out that you don't have a magic wand to pop this stuff out!   :saywhat:

Today we had a bit of a scare. I'm on vacation for the week, so I was at home with our one-year-old. My wife had our other son with her at the daycare that we just opened. She called me, frantic, to tell me that Deputies from the department I work at had been in a vehicle pursuit on our road, and the subject had fled on foot armed with an assault rifle.

I immediately locked all of our doors, armed myself, and contacted work to see what was going on. Turned out that there was indeed an armed subject on foot less than A HALF MILE from our house.

Now, had I been alone I would have been out there helping with the search. My priority was currently upstairs asleep in his bed though, so after donning a vest just in case, I posted myself where I could see out of three windows(in the direction of the bad guy)and where I had a visual of both doors, and listened to the radio chatter.

Our guys caught him in short order, but it was a nerve wracking ordeal to say the least. All I wanted to do afterward was hug my kid. It really put things in perspective.
If you're gonna be dumb, you gotta be tough.

I whipped up a few kids bows for a co-worker's kids -

They all pull about #12 at 18". I used 1/4" red oak from a big box store. 48" tip to tip, 1.5" at the fades tapering to .5". Rit dyed linen backings.

Glad it turned out OK Scott!!

Great job Nick!!

I worked on Christmas bow # 2(# 1 came in too heavy? Hmmm) after gettin my truck inspected and out of 4 low which it stuck in last night after puttin itself in. Has a mind of its own!

Also worked on the 2 end tables, and went huntin. Saw a lil buck at 120 yds and canned him.

That is , I used a can call to bring him to 16 yds, but declined the shot.   :dunno:

I could have told you that you were a perfect A**hole and I'm a fish doctor.

Seriously though, that is good news Roy.  My Dad has been having problems with polyps for a few years now and has already had two surgeries to cut out parts of his colon before it turned cancerous.  Given his propensity for polyps, his doctor suggested my sister and I start having colonoscopies when we hit 40.  I got less than two years now before I start that glorius experience.
