Broke my Model 28-206 Delta 14" band saw and found out they used flimsy pot metal trunnion brackets so if you pull the saw around by the table they bust. To add insult to injury they have the part on 30+ day back order.

Fortunately found a cast iron set on the auction site from an older 28-300 that fit. Waiting for them to arrive.

In the meantime, the wiring on my Jet 20" has been waiting for repair of mouse chew damage. Fancy foot pedal break has a micro switch to trip the magnetic on/off that was too complicated for me to decipher.  My electrician buddy showed up this evening and we got it going again.

All is well and back to making saw dust and shavings.

Roy, my wife has lymphocytic colitis so she has had a few of those scopes ....seems like the worst part is the prep. I don't know what's in that jug of stuff you have to drink, but Id drink raspberry beer before I touched that stuff.

Went shopping with the wife and kids yesterday. So since I was close I stopped at the local Woodcraft store.

Never been there, but went out of my way just to check out the rumor they had a book on building bows, yes they did, the 1st ed. Bowyer's Bible.

Then wandered back to the WOOD!

Thats when my 2 younger boys who were with me, and the employees and other customers started stareing at me?

They say as I was looking at all the pretty "bows" that I looked like I was about to drool, and that my eyes kinda glazed over  :dunno:

I guys they don't all get that excited about seening that many " bows" as I do, and they even said they just saw wood, whats up with that?

Don't you guys see a bow in every piece of wood? I thought this was normal.

Almost ended up on the naughty list the other day too. The wife walked in as I was searching old craigslist.
She asked what I was looking for, said I was looking for people cutting down good trees to get wood for bows. You would have thought I said I was looking for someones elses garbage, she just did not get it. Got the old, better not catch you doing that look( you don"t see here do you?)

Got the same look this fall when I saw a Huge wooden shipping crate on the side of the road. Or at least thats what they saw, I saw a half built free box blind that just needed finished!

Whats up with some people?

Well since our school is in the 2nd day of lockdown due to some idiots thinking its funny to call in bomb threats and shooting threats after the Connecticut shooting...I am not getting much done.  Gawd I cannot wait till Christmas break so I can grab my bow and jaunt around the hills looking for rabbits....I hope you all have a GREAT HOLIDAY full of fun, cheer, sticks and strings and RASPBERRY SHOCK TOP BEER!!!!!!!!
I humbly follow in the learned footsteps of those who precede me.

Roys probably already made an appointment for another one.   :scared:

Scott, that kind of thing had happened twice here in the last three years.  Everyone but my three year old knows how to shoot. Scary world this is.   :dunno:    "[dntthnk]"

Frosty, you're not the only one with the wood affliction. With me it's even worse. I don't just see bows. I see furniture and doors and carvings and decoys....
Isn't it great?   :knothead:

Sad to say I haven't done any work on it in a while. I've been busy with work and getting ready for Christmas as well as finishing up some wood work for a friend.
