Prayers sent Roy. I'm sure they will have him good as new in no time and ready for his thumpin apprenticeship.

Got started laying out a hickory bend through the handle bow. Am thinking of flipping the tips and making a static recurve out of it. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated. It has its own thread going

Prayers sent Roy. Kenny's right, the doctors can just about do miracles these days.
All the best to your Grandon.
Dave.

I was talking to my Daughter while they were prepping him for surgery. She said they had him on morphine for pain and he was very entertaining, his mouth was going a hundred miles an hour and he was so funny. I'm sure he will come out of this ok, just hurts to see a kid having to endure this. He broke his wrist playing soccer a year ago. His Dad played soccer in college and passed the torch to Anthony. Anthony is quite the soccer player and it wouldn't surprise me if he doesn't get a full scholarship at a college when he graduates from high school.

Prayers sent Roy--My son has broken both arms(not at the same time thank goodness)--all fixed up -no complications. Sure it'll be the same for Anthony.
Finished a bow today--came in under weight though. Will try a different design next. Hey--at least the failed attempt for my recipient turns out to be the nicest one I've ever made for myself

Man, that's terrible to hear Roy and Anthony will be in my prayers tonight.  Kids and hospitals are a real crappy combination.

I did a lot of surfing the web today looking at pics of bows to try to decide on a good wood combination for the swap bow.

Roy,

Will be praying for your grandson, I know he will come out fine, based on all the experiences I have had with my brood.

Last Christmas we had to extract my youngest from under the axle of a ford Excursion. Sledding acident, luckily he folded over like a card table when he was about to hit. so apart from leaving his blood, hair and some scalp on the axle he came out fine.

I am sure the good doctors will have him up and about and better then ever, before summer it will be like it never happened.

Back to the school work I put off all weekend.

Wow Roy, definitely in our thoughts and prayers. Teenagers are pretty resilient though, he'll bounce back in no time.

I got my first set of wood arrows today! I didn't know what I was missing... I got some port orford cedar shafts with 5" shield cut fletchings and 125gr field points, I shoot better with these than my carbons with the same set-up  :)

Chased and sealed a black locust stave, chased a ring on an elm stave and layer out an Osage stave a piddled in the shop today. Finally won my battle with photobucket too.

Prayers, for you and yours, Roy. I always hate to see kids in pain.

On an up note, kids bounce back quickly and like it's been said, doctors do wonders these days.

I have a prayer for the doc and surgical team, as well.

Stan
