It figures when the snow is missing me here in Minnesota that it is snowing in the south when I am heading for Arkansas on Tuesday.  I hope it's over and done by then.  I'm used to driving in the snow but I'll be pulling a big horse trailer this time.

Not sure when I'm returning but if it works out I'd love to stop in MO and get some supplies and a bunch of advice from Mr. Kennym.

Looks like fun was had by all Roy. Im glag to see  your drinking real beer.not that goose c... or that berry sissy stuff...Plus when you drink real beer you can eat sandwiches like that.I think with the sissy beer you would have to have cucumber sandwiches and hold your pinky up just right while eating.    :D

Despite the continiously falling snow and deep temperature the postmade was able to make my day by delivering my first two cans of smooth-on   :goldtooth:

Watched 25 Turkeys in the field about 150 yards from the house today. Called to tell my nephew and he said the other day there were 50 down in the field. Spring Gobbler season could be a good one:)

Nice Brad, glue the riser on BEFORE you cut the bow out. It will tiller out very easely, use a gizmo. I now just string mine up to a 5 inch brace height right from the start. Did you taper the limb thickness already before glue up? Did you cut your boo to the finished shape of the bow?

That's one hell of an impact gun on top of the drill press:)

I'm glad you saw this Roy! I was going to do it backwards. I'll glue the riser on first.

I did taper both boo and osage slat, the boo from 1/8 to 1/16" and the slat from 1/2 to 3/8".

I do have the boo cut to finished shape from a pattern and I'll be using my gizmo.

 Thanks

After you take the bow out of the clamps, lay the riser on it's side and lay the bow over top of it and trace the curve of the bows riser onto the riser then cut the riser out and use hand tools to get a nice tight fit. I use a 13 inch riser but you could go a little shorter, maybe 10 at the least. Leave the limbs from the flares out to 6 inches the same width as the flares themselves, that strenthens that area a little.

OK, I'll do it like that.
Anything different about tillering a R/D bow that I need to look for? Everything I've read on here seems to say it's different but I haven't seen what that is yet. The only thing I found was one fellow said he leaves the inner section near the fades till last.
