Maybe I will get the chance but I doubt it because its 6hours away. All I can do is pray. I do appreciate the information though Dan.

Will the bugs be in the sapwood or through all the wood? Will I be able to tell once I debark it? Never dealt much with whole logs. Mainly small sapling hickories and red cedars which are pretty resistant

Nice catch Kenny!

I'm taking advantage of this weekend since it will be the last free weekend I'll have until after Memorial Day with my kids soccer games starting up.  Got my St. Jude's kids bow in the hot box right now and once that one's out in the morning, I'll glue up another adult size one to make up for the one I recently missed weight on.

That's a nice one, Kenny. Who helped ya reel it in?      :bigsmyl:

We call them crappie bass here in Pa. This is our pond in the hollow below our house.

I tried my hand at self nocks and grinding my own turkey feathers on these douglas firs. I used artificial sinew for the wraps.

Now to learn how to knap some rock for points    :D

Baked a raspberry cream cake for my better half's birthday. Now all I have to do is make three large pizzas before family arrives. Must be nice to the good girls. Bue--.

That looks tastey Bue!

Got frustrated beyond believe trying to work on my glass bow. Going to hang this one up for a bit and try an easier hill glass bow.

Time to take to my good friend Kenny and order some materials!

Roy.  That is a great crappie.  I would love to have about six that size to fry up.  That is some good eating right there man.

Before going to work this afternoon I got to spend some time at Wildhorse Creek Bows annual get together. Shot some 3D and ate some brats and had a good time.
Then, off to work so missed out on the shoot for a new bow contest...

LittleBen, been away for a while.  If it's only gonna be a few weeks till you get back to it, you should be ok.  You might have some sap wood damage, but you will be removing that when you chase your ring for the back.  Good luck with it.

Today my new edge sander drew first blood. It sanded the skin off one knuckle quicker than crap:)

It was 50 grit and it just stung a little, lost a 1/4 ounce of blood:) Gotta remember to hold the bow further back with the left hand..

you better be careful old man. It only gets harder to stop the bleeding as you age.

nice catch kenny. Where was it you were fishing?  ;)
