Well last night was a funny night. The wife and I were fishing at our pond and I decided it was time to throw a dye pack in the pond. The pack of dye colors 1 acre foot for about a month. It helps to control algae. The pack is about 10 inches long and thick as a hoagie bun. I throw them as high as I can so they break open when they hit the water. So I throw it up and I'm watching it and I thought OH Crap it's coming back over my head. I took 2 steps back and caught it in mid air. And sure as heck it exploded when I caught it. I was covered with blue dye. My wife was laughing so hard and so was I. She looks at the grass and says look it's Kentucky Blue Grass. We were bent over holding our stomachs from laughing so hard. So today I have blue hands and a blue beard, LMAO...

It's a mystery wood- I picked it up about a year ago on top of some morado but know it isn't that. Sands like it will finish out nice- it does have a piece of zebra wood in the middle.

David, your riser wood looks very similar to this chunk of Bolivian rosewood with a little sapwood and BR is also known as morado.

Today after work I fine-tillered a 60" cocobolo recurve I've been working on.  Made a string and shot it in a bit.  She's pretty quick!  :bigsmyl:

I am in the final sanding stages of a nice Southern Red Cedar Bow. 62" r/d Bamboo core and walnut riser. This is a 35# at 28" made for a friend as a target bow.

Thanks to Troy Breeding for the Cedar veneers and core wood.
