I just returned from a 5 day backpack/scouting/fishing trip with my son. We packed 25 miles round trip back in the Sierra National Forest / John Muir Wilderness. Went up to Fleming Lake at 10,000 ft. and caught over 80 trout. Checked out a couple other high mountain lakes above Fleming and did some pre-season scouting for deer season. No tents this trip only hammocks. My son is 18 now and is a machine when it comes to hiking and survival. He pushed me to my limits on this trip!

Another positve for this trip was the 8 pounds I lost in body fat!
We have another trip planned pre-season and I should be ready to chase a buck...

Great pictures of your hike.

Today my Grandson gathered some wood to use for his bow and arrows, now he says he needs a quiver:)

Roy, now can you drive it down here where I'm having to dig 180 feet of water line by hand and dig the line for me?

Roy, I don't know how you did it, but somebody came and bushhogged the whole deal and then cut the trench for me.  Good friend's father rolled up with a tractor almost just like that and took care of it, only took him three or four hours.

You may just be a good luck charm.  Either that or someone up there is watching out for me.
