Had to reapply clear to a bow when it slid out of my truck. Went and sat a stand where I shot my 7 pointer last year. Saw a spike at 530 and then had 7 or 8 raccoon crawling around and climbing trees around me. At around 630 I had 4 does, another small spike and a nice 6-8 short tine buck come out. All out of range but a great night none the less.

Hey Roy,
Do you buy all that Boo or you grow some in your backyard? Apparently there is some bamboo that can take Minnesota winters and I was thinking of planting some for screens and also maybe use some for bows.

I just got back from a 10 day moose hunt with my friends in NW Ontario. First night hunting, My partner and I encountered a prime bull and cow on the shore of a lake we were checking out. We drifted in his direction and when he saw us, I did the antler thing with my hands while my partner grunted and brought the boat closer. The bull grunted back and held his ground until my partner stood up to shoot. The bull moved slightly away and gave us a nice broadside for a moment and I made myself flat as my partner took the shot. Unfortunately, the bull lost his nerve and started moving and the arrow fell just short.
This was at last light and we thought it looked good, but a thorough search the next morning turned up nothing.
Three days later we worked another hot bull that came in from a real distance breaking brush and grunting with every step he took, but at about 50 yards, he did a 90 and went deeper into the bush.
We came home without a moose, but with exciting memories of bulls and cows, wolves and eagles and tons of other wildlife.
I can't wait for next year!    :archer:

Built a new caul and a spine tester. Cost of tester parts ~$35, used scrap wood & misc stuff. Bought the weight, dial & holder.
