how do you heat your staves, do you do it from that far, just move it less?
i am inclined to hold it closer, but move it around  heaps, so an area doesnt get too hot.
just curious!!

super nice spine tester!!

Glued up another tri lam tonight, this one is for my Buddy's wife. Osage belly, wild cherry core and boo backed. LOL I have two bow's in the works now:)

Knocked a hole in the wall for the flue pipe for the wood burner, got the cement board anchored to the wall with a 1/2" gap behind it, and the wood burner in place. What  a pain knocking out a block in the wall with a studded insulated wall on the inside.

The set up is similar to the heat chapter in TBB4. They said about 4" high in summer and 3" high in winter. I would let it sit in place for about 5min then move half the distance of the mid space of the heat jig.
This process seemed to work really well. I tried by hand before but this was more consistent and didn't just scorch the top layer, it was more thorough. This jig was about 5" high from nozzle to bow.

Well, thanks to our leadership in Washington DC, I've been furloughed.  Went in to the office this morning, signed my furlough paperwork, and came home.  Hopefully this doesn't last too long, but our PA bow season starts Saturday, so I'll be able to keep myself busy.  This is the first time in my adult life that I've been unemployed.

I think I'll crest some arrows today and fling a few in the backyard.

Sorry to hear that, John. I think the folks in office now are the very worst we have ever had in there. I hope they ALL get voted out the next term.

I hear ya Roy.  I'm completely disgusted.

In my job as a federal employee I often times have to work with people I disagree with yet we still get the job done on time.  Why is it that I get the shaft while the members of Congress still get paid for NOT working with people they disagree with and NOT getting the job done on time?

The media keeps talking about the National Parks being shut down, but they don't mention the 550+ National Wildlife Refuges that are also shut down.  Lots of lost hunting/fishing/other outdoor recreational opportunities there that nobody is talking about.

Geez John we all seem to think our politicians aren't worth paying but it seems they get to shaft people and sit back on full pay them selves. Ours are a sorry lot as well. My sympathies to you and the 799,999 others that are the losers in what to an outsider like me seems more about egos than sense.Hope it resolves quickly.Roy might be like man like dog   :bigsmyl:    :bigsmyl:    :bigsmyl:    :goldtooth:

Thanks Mad Dog, he is an English Pointer. He is in the pond every day while we feed the blue gills. It's been a few years now that he caught a frog, his eye sight is very poor now but his nose still works well. Ya gotta watch this video of him from about 8 years ago. LOL

Thanks guys..

When ya coming down again, Robbie Ole Boy?

The ole dog got in trouble yesterday, he's been playing in the mud below my sisters swimming pool. So when he comes to the patio door all muddy, he gets his a$$ taken down to the drive way for a hose off job, which he hates:) But he's getting smarter, this is all the closer he would come to me yesterday cause I had the hose in my hand. LOL
