Man they look the goods! Nice.

Congrats Red and very nice David.

Stripped and chopped turkey feathers last night for on my cane arrows.

Thanks, Roy.

I need to get a feather chopper. I usually trim with scissors using a stiff template. But a chopper would be much faster. I'd also like to build a feather burner like what I've seen posted.

Roy from Pa

Ya those choppers are slick... But burnt feathers stink:)

took my first tri-lam off the form from last night's glue up. bamboo, elm, and osage.  pretty curves.  thread coming soon.  thanks Roy for the dimensions.  then i went and sat in the woods for two hours until sunset, no deer, but i did see a pretty epic bird migration.

Re-mailed by trade bow to goobersan. The top tip had to be replaced due to being broken during the first shipping.

I had to grind the old tip overlay off and replace, reshape, and refinish the tip. At least I had a few more times to shoot the bow once more.

It should be back to its new home by Friday. Maybe goobersan will be able to shoot it this time.   :knothead:

I am using some very special wood from Troy B... Finally putting one together for myself. This bow is somthin special...Osage veneers spliced with Birdseye maple that has a quilted look.  - A Boo cores and topped off with an Osage riser...All wood came from Troy. Bow is in the oven and tomorrow  - Saturday morning I get to unwrap it and start shaping...

Very nice, cunrushoot.
I put up a ladder stand this am. I'll hunt it in the afternoons after school.
There was too much wind blowing for me this morning.

John Scifres

I made a bow.  It is 52" total length. 1-1/8" wide.  Heat bent into a reflex-deflex shape and then sinew backed.  It's 57# at 27".  What do you think?
Take a kid hunting!
