Working on recurve tip #2 today. Plan after is to let it dry & get it bending more then heat treat belly while trying to remove most of the remaining prop twist. May start on a backup bow or two as well & send out the best bow I can make after getting them shot in well.

Posting this late cause I was busy yesterday, but YESTERDAY I got a piece of hickory from DVShunter so I can back some Ipe. Most importantly though, I learned that a beard is an excellent place to hold a pencil while you work.

THANKS AGAIN DAVE!!!!

Once you get used to it, you always want one there. You do get some odd looks when you forget its there and go out in public.

Gotta tell ya, it was the first time I had ever met him, and he is definitely unique. Nicest guy in the world though, and my son is still asking me to go back so he can play with his daughter. Lol

Just make sure he keeps his hat tied to his jacket.  :)  My daughter was askin who that kid was. haha

Roy, I like to make faces at little kids when they stare at me.   :scared:

I went to a friends house to chrono some bows I've got. All I'm sayinf is Kenny has a great design.
I'm planning on glueing on some horn tonight so I can start bending another bow.

Kenny's bow was shooting good.  Faster then other bows 8-10lbs heavier.

Today I lamented the fact that I didn't know my father in law was going to trim the giant hackberry behind his shop. He cut a 12" branch that was about 15' long into 12"-20" pieces. Frown.

Then I worked my frustrations out on a piece of Ipe. Got it into rough bow shape with just a rasp and a surform. Hard but rewarding!

Finally I coveted the maple legs on the new easel my wife got our son. Lol. She has already told me I can't have em. Double frown.

Went out to try and find a few straight osage trees on some new property and after looking at about a hundred of them and seeing nothing straight enough to cut down I ended up cutting a couple of mulberry trees instead. Got a couple 7 foot logs and a little 5 footer. They were a pretty good load on my four wheeler.

Nice okie.. I worked today, but heading to the shop now. Calling for snow, high winds and single digit temps here the next couple days. Sounds like a bow shop weekend to me:)

Ran the traps, ran the kids    , grinding some limb parts... what else to get into??? Maybe I'll glue up a limb today too. It snowed about 3" so it's definitely a shop day today!   :D

Worked on a new Linen backed hickory. I wanted the looks of dyed black linen with a black stain on the wood. Welded some and worked more on the bow.
