Took the bark off another cherry stave. Still need to clean it up a bit but no grub holes or ring violations. Very happy about that. had that problem with a bunch of the staves from this tree. Also got some more work on bow 1 and bow 2 for the trade.

I had to work - no bow building till the weekend.  :(
I like the new job, but starting at 9:30 am and finishing at 6:00, or 7:00, or whatever doesn't leave much play time. Hopefully they'll start an afternoon shift soon and get the day shift onto an early start.

I hear ya carver. I work 7a-7p....really doesn't leave much bow building time.

Of course the up side is I only work 14 days a month.

I too worked all day today, so I was only able to stare lovingly at my bow-in-progress when I got home

Installed a new grip & stared at a few possible projects. I have a bbi blank I'm thinking of finishing & a hackberry stave layed out, just haven't decided on which one to go with. Leaning towards the bbi. Probably try to do it like a hill bow.

Today I destroyed my trade bow. Wasn't planning on doing that, but things happen.

Star, spit happens man. Sorry for your loss!

Good looking starts there kip.

I watched Gary Davis' video for the first time. Great video! I'm helping a guy with his first selfbow and he brought it by for me to see. I sent him home with a few back issues of primitive archer to.author fuel the addiction.   :readit:   he was able to "see" the wood when he left here last night. I'll probably work all Sunday afternoon again and see what he can get done. I worked on finishing a few bows in between explaining.

Thank you, building that ELB was an eye opener....    :notworthy:  to you ELB builders...  it is a really tough design for me. It needs to be to perfect!!!

That's to bad Red...  good news is you still have pleny of time to build another  :)

David I've watched Gary's DVD many times and it is a great one in it's simplicity!!!
