Putting a few coats of finish on plan b for the trade after reworking it and reducing the weight at bit. It's right at 60@28 now.

I finished putting a new roof on my house yesterday before the rain started.  I beat the water by about 15 minutes!  After that I went and checked the local hardwood supply house.  They had some cool stuff, but nothing worth my dollars.  Headed home and smoked any bad mojo out of the shop and half organized/shuffled things around until an apprentice showed up and we chased some rings and made progress on bows for about four hours.  Then the neighbors came by and we ended a busy friday with working a nice hackberry stave.

Then I cut the tips off my swap bow and I'm deciding what to put on for new overlays, and I cut out a black walnut stave.  Any ideas for dimensions for a 50@26in. bow?

DVS, will you post pics of how you put tips on your bows? I see all the cool tips and overlays but I haven't figured out how to do yet.

Thanks, Roy. How long was that cut? About 3"?
I'd appreciate it, DVS.

This afternoon I worked on my trade bow for a few hours. After glueing the handle block on the bow, I played with my dremmel and some saw blades.

I'm gonna make my own broadheads from some old circular blades I had laying around. The fiberglass reinforced discs cut the metal well. I have a couple of turkey wings and two goose wings and a few river canes. My hope is to have a set of hand-made arrows for next October. Once I have a couple of arrows I'll sweet talk my wife to put some pics up. I may as well chop off my fingers as far as figuring out photobucket!!!

Got the bow form from Kenny finished up, and parts laid out for the inaugural bow.  I'm going to try and get it glued up and in the oven tonight.  Also finished four knives in between waiting for glue to dry on the various projects.

Haven't been able to work on bows OR my project bandsaw for the last few days because "Hey, Scott knows how to build things out of wood. Lets have him build all the shelves for the daycare we are opening!"
