When is it next year?

I'm working on a bendy handle osage selfbow and I need more selfbow experience.

Also, who plans on being there?

Bona, it is usually the end of April or the first of May.  I'll check with Pappy and get the exact dates.
I'll be there with bells on!!!!!!!

What is the Tennessee Classic and where is it held.
I, Nephi, did make out of wood a bow, and out of a straight stick, an arrow and did go forth up into the top of the mountain and did obtain food for our families and they did humble themselves before the Lord, and did give thanks unto him. 1 Nephi 16

Don the Tenn Classic is a traditional archery shoot just north of Nashville Tenn that probably has more selfbow shooters and more bow building than I have ever seen in one place. It officially last from Friday until Sunday but lots of folks show up the week before and make a happening out of it.
Mark Baggart(Pappy) owns the farm where it is held and is the founder of The Twin Oaks Archery Club, one of the sponsors. If you are into traditional archery, wood bow building, great folks, great food, lots of room in the beautiful surroundings and free camping you'll love the Tenn Classic. Next year will be my 6 or 7 year and I will continue to attend as long as I'm able.

Next year will be my third and and I absolutely love it.  Its the best shoot that I have been to.  I took David Knights Bamboo backed Ipe class last year and it was great, very helpful.  It was 200 dollars and that included a blank he glued togeter you just take it from there with the tillering and getting it down to the weight to what you want and the handle.  He is right there to help with whatever you might need help on.  Don't know if he's having it this coming year or not I'de have to ask him.   The IBO World shoot is going to be held there again next year too.  That was a pretty good time last year too.

Last year was my first time going, and I loved it.  I took my 12 year old son and he enjoyed it to.  We plan on going back every year.

Well if that's the way it is, I guess we will have to alternate years.  :biglaugh:

That link does still work. I just looked at it again. Sure brings back fond memories and a wanting to get back there. Except for the first frame(that's me in the lower right) Twin Oaks and the Tenn. Classic are depicted well by Ranger B in this video. Great job Jimmy!

It's on my list of to-dos. I just need a year when nothing else is going on at that time. I have a niece getting married then in 2012.
