Hi,
Have been a avid traditional shooter on and off for the past 30 yrs. Just purchased a Martin Jaguar recurve - like it a lot, but am kicking around some kinds of ideas to 'modify' the riser area to accomidate shooting off the shelf aka G. Fred Asbell style and getting the arrow right about my hand as much as possible. I shoot feathers of-course and fingers and am trying to think of what I can make up to 'build out' that riser area to be able to move the area over to center shot to shoot off the shelf on a Martin rug plate rug rest.
Any ideas?
I thought maybe of taking a wood block and sanding and shaping it to the riser 'curve' so-as to fit into the riser and build out the riser more....
Anyone run into this?
I know it wold have been much easier to buy a nice lightly used Bear Kodiak Hunter or Kodiak Mag instead - but for what I have to spend on a recurve now - the Martin was prob almost half of what a nice used Bear recurve would cost me...
???
