This may be a stupid question so forgive me. I am getting ready to make my first bow string and when I ordered my supplies I did not get any serving mono. Is the serving material used for compounds the same as traditional?
Thanks in advance,
Toby

There are tons of different servings out there so experiment and find one you like. I use whatever is on sale...

If your talking mono as like in fishing line, then no. I use nylon serving.

I use Halo (super slick) which is made for cables and strings on wheelie bows. It's a little expensive so I use nylon like Roy until I'm sure all is good and I'm ready for the finished string

I had a compound bow re strung many years ago and it came with mono serving and that didn't last more than two weeks before it got cut by the arrow nock. Get real serving string and never look back.

I like the diamond back serving. I don't use mono anymore, too may problems with it.
