62" Mild R/D- phenolic riser LB
« on: December 29, 2011, 10:50:00 AM »
A while back, I asked if anyone had the Bingham Mild R/D plans and Dwillo sent me his plans.  I quickly built the form and have been very slow finishing the bow.  I put the final coat of thunderbird on last week and just finished it with string and rest today.

This is a Bingham Mild R/D bow, which I added 1" of reflex to when I built the form (simply by dropping the outer sides of the template down 1" when routing the form).

I used black glass, 3 actionboo 72" lams, 1 core-tuff carbon and white tip wedges.  The tip overlays are clear glass, white and black glass and the riser is solid phenolic.  The bow turned out to be 50# @ 28" and is 62" long.

This will be my PBS donation bow for the upcoming March banquet.

Here are a few pics.

It shoots quite well, I was out there this morning taking some shots with the newly finished string.  The brace height looks really high in the strung pics, but it is at about 7" and works well there.  Thanks for the comments.

You must have been on vacation filling the freezer Instead of in the shop.  You made up for it with that one.  Very classy A's usual Brad.  Always look forward to seeing your bows.

I am really hoping to make it this year Kenny.  Hopefully the timing will work out better, but last year I was in Iowa working until Friday night and just couldn't make it down. Ideally, I would like to make it down to Marshall on Wed night or Thursday morning so I can get at least a couple good days out in the heat.

That is a nice looking bow Brad.
How much mass weight did the phenolic riser add? I have been wanting to add some weight to a longbow without going to a solid glass riser.
I didnt miss, thats right where I was aiming
