Need Z-Splice Help

I followed the instructions for the cut, but this doesn't look right.

 

 

Got way too much deflex I think.

Well I put a string on her and have a 3 inch brace height already, that good or bad?

well flip it around and you would have 3" of reflex.

Just pick up either piece and stand on your head and put it back - it will be perfect. Kinda reminds me of a fellow carpenter I saw picking nails out of a 50 lb box carefully only taking the ones pointing in the same direction. When asked he said the others were for the other side of the house.

Steam for green wood and dry heat for dry wood Roybert. Nice clean cuts for 11 pm on a Friday.

I think just the right amount of  pressure on the board stretcher will clear that right up.    :dunno:

I stuck her in the hot box and put the stave compactor to it over night. Straightened it right out, now how about that:)
