glass backing
« on: January 02, 2012, 06:37:00 PM »
Hey all I've only done bamboo and hickory backing but am thinking about doing a glass backing.  I'm wanting it to be around 70# or so.  I've seen glass backed Ipe without a glass belly, but I'm probably going to do it out of Hickory.  My question is do I have to sorry about the glass crushing the hickory withit it having a glass belly??  Any info would be appreciated.  Thanks everybody

I build a lot of bows backed with glass. A glass backed hickory bow in the 70# range will have plenty meat in the limbs that you won't have any problem with the belly crushing.
