Can we ask for advice here or should I start a new thread?
Dave.

Today I steamed in a couple inches of recurve in the tips of this Hickory made from a stave. I didn't want to get too aggresive with it just wanted to add a nice flow to it and to offset any set it may take on (if any). Tomorrow I plan to glue on some cherry tip overlays.

I have my swap bow all done but I can't find the string. I'd take pictures but my wife messed up the camera. It has a fret but should be ok. I'll mail it out Sunday if the post office is open.

Well here is my start, I am going to chase one more ring on this one. Reduce the handle and fades. Then tiller shoot and try and catch me a gar. I am thinking about backing the bow with gar skins.

It might be a little while before I start my swap bow.  I want to build a glass r/d for my recipient, but having only made one off my r/d form so far and missing the weight on that one, I still have some experimenting to do.  I'm gonna build one more to see if I can get my stack thickness figured out then start on *********'s bow.

We post pics all the way through Nim Rod. We just cover up the recipients name when we take pics.

Kelly I thought about gar skin when I seen the carp skin bow. If you catch one, a how to from the fish to the bow would be great.

We don't have obligatory gar around her but spotted and needle nose there are lots of. I think the are some good looking fish with the green and yellows well minus that toothy head.

The carp bow is where I got the ideal. I think the gar skin is pretty thick.

Well I actually started the glue up a little early. This is an all bamboo bow.I glued it up last week.I started tillering it.So far Ive got it down to the short string but thats as far as ive made it.Man its hard to tiller with nodes on the belly and back.Even though you sand the belly ones off there is still a stiff spot there. The right limb in the pic's has a flat spot right out of the form that im trying to work out.But so far it doesent want to budge much. There is a node top and bottem in the center of the flat spot.Ive just got to keep  working at it.Left limb in the pic is the bottem limb.Ive left it about 1/4" stiff so far.Right now its still very heavy.about 60#@18" so there is room to work. Thanks for looking,Scott

Glued up a hbi tonight and then cut out dimensions on a nasty looking Osage stave.  We will see which one turns out.  I'm thinking I'll work through both and see which one shoots the best.  I love me some ugly Osage that turns out beautiful!

Oh yah !! I think that Osage one is going to be a great looking bow. I bet they will both be but that Osage stick is going to have some character!

So far, I just can't determine which of these bows so far I would wish to be for me.  Keep 'em coming fellas.
