Got my plan C bow ready to be shot in. It's a hickory backed zebrawood longbow. 72" long, medium draw weight & length (give or take a bit). I might be biased a bit, but I think it's going to be really pretty when it's finished. We have indoor shooting at the local rod & gun club tonight, so that worked out nicely. It sure beats outdoors when there's 30" of snow on the ground. I should be able to get 100 - 200 shots in tonight and the same again on Sat. Then I can do final sanding and start dolling it up.   Rob
Don't know how I got here and don't know where i'm going, but life is grand.

Man, I like that stippling, 'wolf. Sharp bow.

Roy, Keenan can put anything on a bow he wants. I promise it'll shoot! And they are pretty!

Finally got down to some wood raspin' and drawknifin' and now have a bow with a profile. The handle is roughed in and it's almost time to floor tiller.
Hopefully by Friday night it'll be ready for the tiller tree and a long string. I tried to glue up a spliced hickory accent between the osage handle block and bow stave. I didn't like how it turned out so had to re-do it.

You know, if it wasn't for work, kids, family, eating, sleep, and stuff, this bow making could go faster!

Thanks Stan,  Ol Roy is just hankering for a butt woopin  :readit:   I can see I'm going to have to start in on another bow, complete with sucker skins. Thinking maybe if I leave them skins out in the sun for a day or two it would double as a "bear bait" bow for him  :bigsmyl:

Man I step away from the computer for a few days and it takes me an hour to catch up. Been working on two bows at the same time hoping one will work out. Great work everyone the bows this year are just incredible.

I'm finished with my trade bow...waiting on the clearance to ship from Kelly.  No pictures yet, but will in a few days...hopefully.  We're in the middle of a move, so I'm a tad crunched at the moment  :)

This one is going out next week. Just finished the details today. It has been alot of work and I really like how it turned out. Its a dual shelf 65'' NTN recurve that weights 47# @ 28''. I've shot this about 350x so its ready to go. This was my first bow from a stave and only my second working bow out of 5 tries.

The wood is hackberry, tips are buffalo horn, kona stain 2x & the bow has 6 coats of minwax satin poly.

I hope *********** really likes this as it was very hard to let go.

Here are some pics of "SHADOW"  :archer2:

Nice job, Sport. Everytime I drive along a road I'm looking for hackberry in a spot I could cut from.
I am really likin' that bow.
