Got a little more work done on my swap bow. I peeled the tape off just to check it for any spots and there wasnt any. Then I retaped and went to grinding. I was able to get the limbs profiled, tillered, and the tips glued on and rough in the string grooves So I could see how much she's pulling.
I went with these wild and crazy looking tips that I picked up at the local woodcrafters store. The lady told me they were a really hard material and they are. But I put glass under them just to make sure. If they dont work I'll put something different on there.
Its going to be a green bow green action wood riser, green stained tonkin cane bamboo veneers and bamboo cores and green tips.
Then it was time to draw out all my lines just so that I could grind them off. I have my marks on the back of the bow of where all my lines go and can redraw them when I'm ready to cut this perfectly good bow in half. Just doesn't make sense why anyone would cut their bow in half. I guess its easier to ship that way.
I'll have to touch up the area with a file to make sure she is about .010 bigger on the top so that they will slide together with ease. I wont be able to get anything else done to her till thursday.
