Igot one in today from Dino Zack,  a perfect self bow, 50# @ 28", hickory, pyrimid profile, smooth, and already dialed in for the arrows I shot with it. (how'd he know about my arrows?)

Seriously After just a half dozen shots, I would confidently, shoot at a deer with it, today if I could.

Here's pics

Congrats Mike on a fine bow. That brings us to 17% complete. I am not tracking anymore in the mail. Great work folks just awesome. I need to get my tip lined up before next Wednesday I get a ganglion cyst removed and will have my hand in a cast for about a month. I hope to give the bow that time to rehydrate and it want put me behind if I can make it happen.

I think that settles it.  Looking at Mike's new bow (even though it's HHB) makes me go with the hickory option.  I've been waiting for this black locust stave that I roughed out to dry, but I don't want to rush it and I'm tired of waiting.  I've got tons of hickory ready to go, it's been drying in the barn rafters for a couple of years now and should be good.

Now that I think I've made up my mind on a plan A, I might just start tonight (I'm heading home early anyhow.)  Plus, this is my first weekend in months that hasn't been filled up two weeks ahead of time.  I'll see if I can't get some shavings pulled off of that bow and post some progress pics by Monday.

Every time the mail is delivered I'm looking for a long box to come out of the mail jeep as well, didn't have that problem until I shipped out my bow.........

I'm so glad I finished my trade bow when I did!  Over the weekend I took a hard fall, separated my collar bone from my shoulder and fractured a couple ribs.  I wish the injury was a result of something exciting like wrestling a bear...unfortunately I slipped on someone’s vomit at the Buffalo Sabers game - at least I didn't fall in it.  Not the best injury for an archer! Whoever is making my bow...no rush!!!

Thanks guys!  This will put a bit more pressure on my son to do his own rasping, etc on his Scavenger Bow Challenge bow (and keep me from working on it while he's at school and I'm laid up at home).
