So- hopefully I have time this weekend to make some progress on my on again/off again trade bow.

Long story short- 3rd attempt to get a bow good enough to send, and I am back to the first attempt after piking about 4" off each limb.

Here is where I am at:

To do this weekend:

ERC, just shy of 59" ttt, going to flip the tips, sinew and silk back it.  If all goes well, it'll ship on time.  If I have to give it a 4th go, I just got some hackberry.

after some more work today its looking better but i think i see a stiff spot on the right side towards the handle. So this one was a bunch of firsts for me. first long draw bow first hickory bow and first bow with re-curved tips. dimensions are 66 in tip to tip almost 2 inch glued in re-curved tips. little over 1 in at handle 2 in wide right past the fades going out to 14 in then tapers to 1/2 in tips with 8 in long handle.  I'm trying to get as much working limb as i can but i down't want my handle to pop off  how far do you think i can push the bend towards the handle. tiller critique would be great too i will gladly take all the help i can get. o

Looking good everyone. I have my in-laws and my parents in for my son's high school graduation. That has put a crimp on my shaving time.

But the bows being posted are some mighty fine bows for sure.

It has taken me a while but I am finally able to put up a few photos of the trade bow I recieved from Matt Wirwicki. It is an awesome sinew backed osage with an incredible snake skin job. I have been wanting a bow exactly like this ever since I started shooting trad. It shoots as good as it looks. Fast, flat, and hits like a ton of bricks. I can't wait to take it into the woods this fall. My only regret is that I've been so incredibly busy this year that I haven't had much time to enjoy it, let alone take photos for everyone else to enjoy. Thank you so much again Matt, and everyone who makes the bow swap happen. This will certainly be one I will remember. (hopefully the pics will do it some justice)

I Think I'll name It Snake Eye

Some pics of the tips, and the unstrung profile after about 30-40 shots.

Six kill shots at 19 yards

I'd say that target is dead.

Dang Caleb I like those skins.  They look great.

Great looking bow Stan.  I like the razorback you did one it.  I lived in Sercy AR for a little bit.  Hated it. lolol  No offence to you or where you live in AR but I couldn't stand that place at all.

Still waiting for the ok to ship mine.  I just gotta tuck her away nicely in the ship tube and off to her new home.

Great looking bows everybody.  This has been my first year in the swap and I have really enjoyed seeing the works of art take shape.

Man! I like the skins all the way out the tips! Hadn't seen that before. Very nice, Matt and Caleb.  :clapper:

No offense, D. There's no accounting for some folk's taste. LOL! Searcy isn't in my favorite area of the state, anyway. I prefer farther west and even more to the north, if I can't be in the south end of the state.

I plan to pick up a pvc tube this afternoon so my trade bow can ship out this coming week. I took about 30 shots with the bow this afternoon. This thing shoots better than I do!

I seen that bow Matt built you in its sinew cradle when it was just a baby bow! Now its all grown up and spitting fire. Matt builds a first class - life long bow, your a lucky guy.
