I've been on a bow building hiatus and decided to check on the swap. I sent mine and got mine early on so I wanted to see what progress has been made.    Nice looking bows for sure and hope to see more soon.

I had a bow I had to finish before I worked on my swap bow again. So it is being shot in by the owner and in the mean time I'm working on my swap bow. I hope to get alot done this week on it. I will get some updated pics up too.

Long tube on the porch after a long day....can't beat that. I've got to head out of town tonight but i'll try to post full draw pictures on sunday/monday. It's a bamboo backed walnut? (i think walnut). Thanks a ton Javier! You've done a great job. I bet its a shooter too! I'll find out more when I get back into town. Thanks again! Fantastic work.

Got my tradebow in the mail today!  A beautiful hop hornbeam long bow.  Pete you did a great job on her.  It shoots very hard and right where you look.

Thanks Dave. I realy like Hop Hornbeam. I hope it serves you well. The string on it is 10 strands of DF97 with 16 strands in the loops served with 030 daimondback. I like the way modern strings shoot on my selfbows.I picked up the Staves from  Herb Haines in New brunswick when I was there for a visit, bussed them to Alberta, and stored them for a year before making the bow. HHB has given up some good bows for me. I want to try a Penobscott HHB next.

Good looking bow David nice job Pete. Like that we are 28% complete. The good news is I am still tracking 2 bows in the mail.

I have been skinning snakes around here. It took me forever to get the first one. But since I have had 2 given to me. One was a northern water snake (I will need another to match) the other a 5' black rat.

I have my bow bending good I think. I shortened my long string a bit so It wont string again. But if I get it strung again I will get pics up.

Sure gonna hate to part with this one. This is my second glass bow and my firt takedown. I have learned a lot, and only hope ***** enjoys it as much as I do. The riser is walnut and curly maple and the limbs are red elm with walnut wedges. Put the first coat of sealer on tonight. I hope to finish the bow this weekend and get it shot in to ship out the first week of June. It is 56" and pulls around 49# @ 27" according to my bathroom scale. Enjoy!!!!

Now stiks... That's not nice! I hope he/she doesn't have to wait much longer to ship. I've had some set backs but looks like I'm gonna end up making the dead line.

dear trad gand people.

due to my unstable business going on, i could not be able to start my trad bow yet. well actually, i have started but could not be able to move forward. since those business conditions are not my hand to run, i was unable to concentrate to anything else.

my trad bow at the moment stays as roughly shaped and needed to be detailed work.

i am not sure when this swap thing dead line but as i remember it was june?
was it?

i will try to make it but now i can't say a thing since the business become much more vital at the moment. and the government here makes everything worse.

i am posting this, because, i do not want to be in black list or something.

well, again i will give my apologies to you all and of course my opponent and i will make my best to complete (but nevertheless i can't be 100% sure on it).

best in advance.

Woohoo!  I'm glad you got the bow Tyler!  Yup Its Brazilian Walnut (Ipé)  She is a snappy one, I hope you enjoy her!

Now to sit on the porch and harass the mailman!

Don't throw anything at me but I'm making a bow for my nephew out of PVC because he wants it by the end of the day.  I'm not sure if any of you have backslid and done this before but its super easy and makes a quick quiet bow @ 45#'s (170 fps).  No tillering just heat, flatten and shape, and about 1 hr later you have a bow!

Ink Just keep us posted bud. If you do have to back out you will still be able to get in next year as long as you don't wait till after the deadline of the first week in july.

The sooner you know for sure the better. If you have to wait till next year to get in that's alright. We have had a few that had to back out already due to things in life. They are still in good standing and always welcome I assure you.
