Just an update....

Should get the finish on my trade bow this weekend and should be shipping within the next few weeks.

I'll try to get some more pics up after the finish is done.

I've had alot of stuff going on (just life)and havn't been on here much but there are alot of nice bows being built.

Good Job everone!!

Hey Kris,

Boswell and I looked for you at the TN Classic but never found you. Oh we did find your truck! Haha. We even had PatB trying to help us find you but it didn't workout. Maybe next year we can meet up and shoot a round or two.

I ended up having to build a board bow even though I didn't want to send one as my trade bow. I tried two staves and neither one worked out, however I can say that this is my best bow to date. It's not perfect but I gave it my best shot and I would be happy with it if I received it as my swap bow.

City that looks like a great bow.

I got some more scraps in on mine and got the short string on it again. I also have it pulling to 50lbs on the long string. I think I have  a bit of twist in one limb. It is not bad yet I am sure I can get it out. Just need to get the gizmo out and us it on the section that I can.

Can't wait to see 60 or more bows finished in the next month and a half.

I put bison horn tip overlays on my trade bow and have been filing them down. The bow is bending some so I will make a string, put in some string grooves and see about getting him strung soon.

Kelly, how much tip movement are you getting at 50#? Is it time to get to low brace? You can't really tell anything until you brace the bow.

I agree with Kelly, Citycop. Nice looking bend to that board. Tapers look smooth and even. How does she shoot?

Talked to Kelly today on the phone. If any body is done with your build and was asked not to ship let me or Kelly know and post pics of your completed bow.

This way we can start okaying some folks to go ahead and ship that are waiting for there recipient that was either late last year or new this year.

 I'll start

Here's the bow I built for my recipient

sinew backed yew with a diamond back water snake skin. Pin nocks and black leather handle wrap.

Throwing in a couple stone tipped arrows and an Asbell bow sock in the package.

This is my best swap build as of yet so I guess the whole point of pushing the rookies is working out LOL

 Heres a few more pics

Someone need to get their bow done so They can get that bow.

To sum up what kris said. City cop has posted a completed bow. So if his builder is done they can ship to citycop but that bow he build can't be shipped just yet for that bowyer is not done and is on the hold until complete list. So if you are on the hold list complete your bows and post pics of it here and we will give your builder the go ahead to ship.

We have hit a bottle neck on the hold thing. If you have any doubt on weather you guy or gal can receive just PM me or sticks and we will look and see and let you know.

Ok as far as my bow goes here is my progress so far.

I have it on a shorter string it lays across the handle.

This end is where I think I may have to heat and get some more twist out.

this is the side profile strung.

And here is the unstrung.

let the advice start rolling in.

Hey Kelly, no need to get up on your soap box (red & white cooler).... LOL!!!! You bettter get down from there before you hurt yourself. Pics look good. Here's a few more of my bow. Looks like I'll be done by tomorrow as long as I don't run into problems. Once again, this bow was made from quality materials from Kennym, Thanks Kenny.

I did not scrape on my bow any more I was able to shorten the string some I was able to brace it to about and inch off the handle.

The string comes off that side when I tried to pull it back a few inches and I can get it to about 6" but the string slips off that edge. I think I am going to heat it see if I can get the twist out. I see the twist when the limb is relaxed.

What do you think scrape a bit more or try and heat the twist out.

I mailed my bow today.  :D  Now the anticipation begins!  :archer:
We have a public holiday on Monday so it won't actually begin moving until Tuesday. I hope **** can hang on for a few more days.
The bows I've been seeing here are an inspiration. Works of art, all of them. I can't wait to see what the mailman brings to my door.      :goldtooth:
