Canopyboy, this planer was a long time coming. I had my last one for 17 years and it has paid for itself many times over. I've been wanting a spiral cutter for a while now.
Nimrod, those stone tips are real sweet. Whoever gets your bow will be blown away!
Hey Razorback, did you give the temperature in celcius? How un-American!
I have a question for anyone who might be able to help. I was laying out a riser for a R/D tri lam on a real nice piece of walnut and I couldn't stop looking at that piece of wood. After a while, I erased the lines and drew out a riser for a straight limbed longbow. This fit the grain pattern perfectly, but I'm not sure of how thick the lams should be if the bow is to pull between 50 and 60 pounds. I still want a bamboo backed tri lam with a walnut or cherry (maybe something else?) core and probably a bamboo belly. Has anyone ever done one like this?
Any advice will be much appreciated.
Thanks.
Dave.
